Character Generation

I’m often on Skype and my PM box is always open, please feel free to discuss character concepts with me.

Culture:
In the Circle Sea setting, the culture you belong to matters more than race. Choose a culture and discuss your background with me.

Backgrounds:
We are using simplified backgrounds rules:
1) write your background
2) choose two skills based on that background, both skills become class skills for you and you gain +1 to those skill checks
(as per many of the Scales of War backgrounds)

Classes:
All classes are represented close to the circle sea.
If you think your choice of class could be unusual or problematic, please discuss it with me before you make plans.
If you want to play a class that you think is overly-weak, please discuss it with me and we can look into making alterations.

Races:
All current D&D races are found close to the circle sea, although humans make up at least 80% of the population.
Drow, Changelings and Half-Orcs are banned as player characters (see House Rules)
If you think your choice of race could be unusual or problematic, please discuss it with me before you make plans.

Themes:
Themes are in.
If you think your choice of Theme could be unusual or problematic, please discuss it with me before you make plans.

Deities:
The Circle Sea campaign uses custom deities that will be detailed shortly. TBC
Game elements that reference deities (Channel Divinity Feats/Holy Symbols etc) can be updated to use the campaign deities.

Languages:
The Circle sea uses different language rules, and that gets it’s own page.

Starting Wealth/equipment:
1st/2nd level: Special, will be discussed later
3rd level and thereafter: As we are using Inherent Enhancement rules, starting wealth/equipment is: 1 item of your level or lower, 1 item of your level-1 or lower, GP equal to 1 item of your level-1
